The Wabash College Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in French to begin July 1, 2023. The field is open, but with preference for a Francophone specialist. The successful candidate will teach classes in language, culture, and literature, and should have a PhD in hand by the appointment date or shortly thereafter. Other requirements include native or near-native fluency in French and English, evidence of excellence in teaching, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
The successful candidate must be dedicated to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, to ongoing professional development and scholarly research, and to active membership in a department of modern languages that is committed to the innovative teaching of language and literature in cultural context. Normal teaching load is six courses per year, balanced among language, literature, and culture.
