The Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University, located in Conway, South Carolina, invites applications for the full-time position of Lecturer of Spanish to begin August 2023 in the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies.
The successful candidate will be able to teach all levels of Spanish language and culture. Preference will be given to candidates with ability to teach in one or more of these areas: Spanish for Healthcare, Spanish for the Professions, Spanish/English Translation/Interpretation, Spanish in the US, Latinx culture in the US, Indigenous studies. Strong interest in community engagement or medical missions is highly desirable. The candidate must be able to engage productively with faculty in a multi-language department to promote a culture that values foreign language learning and supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Candidates must have at least a master’s degree in Spanish with teaching experience in undergraduate instruction both in person and online, and possess near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Candidates with doctoral degree are encouraged to apply.
