The Department of French and Italian invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in French Language. This is a full-time, renewable appointment with an initial term of three years. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Responsibilities include coordinating beginner and intermediate level French courses, advising students, participating in and/or leading extra-curricular activities, and performing administrative duties. Knowledge of current trends in second language pedagogy and instructional design is preferred. A superior level proficiency in French is required, and an interest in French and Francophone culture to structure language teaching around intersections with French and Francophone literature, music, cinema, and the Arts is a plus.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in French or Applied Linguistics preferred, native or near-native command of French and English as well as documented success in teaching French language courses at introductory and intermediate levels. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the growth of the program. The Ph.D. degree must be earned no later than July 31, 2023.
