Associate/Full Professor in African American Rhetoric/Literacies

The Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition at Syracuse University invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor in writing and rhetoric with a specialization in African American Rhetorics/Literacies with the following areas of secondary interest/specialization also welcome but not limited to: community writing, composition studies, digital writing, literacy studies, professional and technical writing, queer rhetorics.


The Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition is a freestanding academic unit at Syracuse, with a nationally recognized faculty and course offerings ranging from first-year writing to a Ph.D. in Composition and Cultural Rhetoric. Our department is also home to a growing major, a minor in Writing and Rhetoric, and a minor in Professional and Technical Writing. The successful candidate will share the College’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and be prepared to join an active research faculty who teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
