The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in Medieval Italian Studies for a one-year position beginning Fall 2023, with the possibility of a one-year renewal. We welcome scholars with superior linguistic proficiency in Italian and a clear research agenda, and who have demonstrated teaching excellence and commitment to diversity in their teaching. A Ph.D. is required and must be completed at the time of hire/appointment. Applicants will teach three advanced undergraduate courses in Italian. Candidates will be expected to participate in departmental activities and to present their research to the Romance Studies community. Candidates will also be encouraged to develop their own research projects in conversation with members of the department and to present their current research to the Romance Studies community.
