Assistant/Associate Professor, English
The English Department of Muhlenberg College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor with a Ph.D in Literature/Language/Rhetoric to begin August 2020. Candidates must have completed their Ph.D by this date. The department seeks applicants who are committed to Writing Across the Curriculum, and combined with a 2/2 annual teaching load, will administer a well-established and nationally-recognized Writing Program, Writing Center (with a full-time salaried assistant) and First Year Seminar Program. The candidate will direct faculty workshops on writing and writing pedagogy and also train twenty tutors per year as part of an in-load Writing Theory course. The literary field of specialty is open. It may include but is not limited to the rhetoric of different kinds of writing, narrative fiction and theory, Postcolonial and Global literatures, non-traditional or non-canonical fields, or interdisciplinary approaches to the teaching of Literature and Writing. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to professional activity in both Writing Theory and Literary Studies.
