Job Summary:

The English Department of Muhlenberg College invites applications for a full-time tenure or tenure-track position with a Ph.D in Literature/Language/Rhetoric to begin August 2020. Candidates must have completed their Ph.D by this date. The department seeks applicants who are committed to Writing Across the Curriculum, and combined with a 2/2 annual teaching load, will administer a well-established and nationally-recognized Writing Program and Writing Center (with a full-time salaried assistant). The literary field of specialty is open. It may include but is not limited to the rhetoric of different kinds of writing, narrative fiction and theory, Postcolonial and Global literatures, non-traditional or non-canonical fields, or interdisciplinary approaches to the teaching of Literature and Writing. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to professional activity in both Writing Theory and Literary Studies.

Candidates should also submit a separate statement describing how they will enhance the diversity of offerings and educational experiences in our department as well as contribute to the College’s efforts to become a more diverse and inclusive community.
