Wells College seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric & Composition with experience in first-year writing program design and administration, to begin in the fall of 2023. We desire a colleague with current fluency in dynamic approaches to first-year writing pedagogy in the shifting landscape of higher education. A Ph.D. in Rhetoric & Composition or a related field is preferred by the time of appointment. The qualified candidate will teach a 3/3 load of both first-year writing courses and specialized courses in rhetorical studies, professional/technical writing, and/or other rhetoric-specific courses in service of our liberal arts curriculum–largely to be determined by the candidate’s area of expertise. Preference may be given to scholars and practitioners in the area of developmental writing.
