The Department of Hispanic Studies at Connecticut College is seeking a full-time appointment for the position of senior lecturer (3/3 teaching load) with multi-year renewal contingent on excellent performance, to begin July 2024. Candidates should hold a PhD in Spanish Language and Literatures, have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and have excellent credentials in teaching Spanish at the college level. Experience with content-based and student-centered methodologies is essential, as the appointee will be expected to teach first- and second-year language courses and occasional 300-level seminar courses using equity pedagogy, recent classroom technologies and innovative digital resources. Also important is the candidate’s commitment to the liberal arts, to teaching and advising undergraduates, the intellectual life of the campus, and to the mission of the College. Candidates will have expertise in teaching and advising and first-year seminar/experience courses and FLAC (Languages Across the Curriculum). Additionally, the position holds expectations for service on departmental and college committees and participation in professional development activities.
