TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH

Centre College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment as assistant professor of English to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will be a specialist in American literature; desirable secondary interests include, but are not limited to, African American literature, Southern literature, environmental humanities, and indigenous literatures of the Americas. This position will also contribute to our general education curriculum.  The program strongly encourages applications from candidates who have experience teaching and mentoring a diverse student body. 

Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in a student-centered environment. Special consideration will be given to candidates committed to using/developing inclusive pedagogies, mentoring student research, and supporting students beyond the classroom. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree by the start of their appointment.
