Job Posting for Assistant Professor of Spanish
University of Arkansas, Fayetteville
The Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish, to begin 17 August 2020. The Assistant Professor will be specialist in early modern Spanish peninsular literature and culture and will be expected to enhance a dynamic undergraduate and graduate program in Spanish, with opportunities to contribute also in interdisciplinary programs such as the Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Spanish or closely related field in hand by start of employment. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required. Candidates should demonstrate clear evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and research, with the ability to teach across a wide range of graduate and undergraduate levels, and also the interpersonal skills and collegiality necessary to help maintain a strong Spanish program.
