Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track
Lecturer of Spanish and Foreign Language Education faculty position in the Department of
Foreign Languages which begins August 2020.
Assignments for this position will consist of teaching lower-level Spanish and methods courses,
supervising student teachers as part of a 4/5 teaching load, assisting with advising, supporting
and implementing a recruitment plan, and/or facilitating extra-curricular activities. Local travel is
required to supervise student teachers.
Faculty teach courses in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid and online. A
commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the institution is expected of all faculty
members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
A minimum of a Master of Arts degree in Spanish, Foreign Language Education, or Linguistics
(Ph.D. is ideal), or its foreign equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience; a commitment to
diversity and inclusiveness; a record of excellence in teaching; and a commitment to service and
engagement. Must have prior P-12 school teaching experience. Native or near-native fluency in
Spanish as well as in English. Ability to work effectively as a team member within the Foreign
Language Education (FLED) program and the Department of Foreign Languages.
