Position Description
The Department of English and the Film and Media Studies Program at the University of Rochester seek applications for a non-tenure Assistant Professor (Instructional Track) in Film/Media Production and Screenwriting. The successful candidate must have an M.F.A. degree in hand, an established record of creative production activity, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a record of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. In addition to maintaining an active creative agenda and participating in service, the candidate will be expected to teach the equivalent of three courses per semester, with undergraduate advising duties substituting for one course per year (thus resulting in a 3/2 teaching load). Courses taught will include core media production, screenwriting for film/television, and advanced courses in narrative production and other areas of the candidate's expertise.
