The Department of English at Hendrix College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Creative Writing to begin 1 August 2024. The successful candidate will teach poetry writing with a secondary field of creative nonfiction writing. In addition to teaching introductory and advanced creative writing courses, mentoring creative writing-related engaged learning projects, and contributing to the vitality of the Department’s track in Creative Writing, other teaching responsibilities include introductory and advanced writing, and literary studies courses. The teaching load is 3-3. Applicants must have in hand an M.F.A. or Ph.D. in English, Creative Writing, or a related field—or supply evidence that the degree will be awarded—by the summer of 2024.
