Job Description
The Department of English invites applications for anAssociate Professor or Full Professor of English specializing in American Literature and Digital Humanities,to begin fall 2024.The successful candidate will play an instrumental roleinthe on-going development ofthe University's Center for Digital Humanities, serve as its director,and lead extramural fundraising initiatives.As director, the successful candidate will oversee collaborative DH projects across academic units at UTEP, coordinate joint initiatives across institutions, and advance the Digital Humanities Center's mission of borderlands and community engagement. Candidates should also have expertise in American Literature (period of specialization open).We seek a candidate whose research and teaching aligns with the department's curricular needs across our programs in literature, rhetoric, and English education and whose experience will prepare them to advance the College's research focus in Digital Humanities.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric, or Comparative Literature and a substantial record of publication. Active research agenda that includes developing and launching DH projects, administrative experience, and a strong commitment to teaching first-generation students at a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
