The Department of Modern Languages at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish to begin in Fall 2024. We seek candidates who have an active research agenda in Hispanic literary and cultural studies, native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and a commitment to liberal arts education and student research. Specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates who specialize in health humanities, have a demonstrated interest in community engagement, and can participate in such interdisciplinary programs as Latin American Studies, Health and Society, Gender, Women's and Sexuality Studies, and/or African American and Africana Studies.
Applicants should submit a cover letter that describes scholarly accomplishments and proposed agenda, curriculum vitae, names and contact information of three references, evidence of teaching effectiveness, a writing sample and the statement described below.
