Assistant Professor of Italian

The Italian Studies Program at Wake Forest University is inviting applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2024. This is a full-time position with benefits. Teaching load is nine courses every two years. Area of specialization open. The program of Italian Studies is looking for a dynamic teacher-scholar who can successfully contribute to our Italian Minor, strengthen, and expand the program’s interdisciplinary focus. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of a rigorous and sustainable research agenda as well as demonstrate the ability to build curricular connections with other disciplines, and to foster innovative collaborations with faculty in various units on campus. We are particularly interested in candidates who can articulate their vision for promoting student interest in Italian Studies.

Qualifications: Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in hand in Italian or related field by the appointment start date. Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in both Italian and English.
