Assistant Professor in Spanish

The Department of Literature and Languages at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Spanish beginning fall 2024. Required qualifications include Ph.D. in Spanish by August 15, 2024 and near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Desirable credentials include general linguistics and/or translation studies with college teaching experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching Spanish language and communication, and occasionally, linguistics to English and Spanish majors, research and publication, developing a legal Spanish minor or certificate program, learning outcome assessment, and local community outreach for service learning. Teaching load is 3/3. Compensation is competitive and based on credentials.
