Assistant Professor for English

The Department of English seeks an assistant professor of creative writing, emphasis in fiction, tenure track, to maintain and develop its creative writing major.  A Ph.D. in creative writing or a related field in English—especially rhetoric and composition--is strongly preferred. A background in online editing, digital media, and/or small-press publishing would also be desirable.  A successful candidate must have substantial teaching experience, a record of publication, and a vibrant scholarly agenda. This position requires a load of twenty-four credit hours per academic year (typically, three four-credit classes each semester). The load will include at least one course in first-year composition each semester. A strong commitment to teaching general education courses and advising and mentoring undergraduate students is essential.  Service to the department, the university, and the discipline is expected
