Open Rank Faculty Position in Applied Linguistics

The Department of English at American University of Sharjah, an internationally ranked and accredited American-style university in the United Arab Emirates, invites applications for a full- time open-rank faculty position in applied linguistics, beginning in August 2024. The position includes teaching courses in the MA TESOL program and the undergraduate English Language and Literature program, including general education, academic writing and linguistics courses.

A PhD in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics is required. Applicants with a specialization in TESOL are particularly encouraged to apply; however, all areas of linguistics will be considered. Successful candidates will have a strong record of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarly publication, and a demonstrated commitment to productive institutional service. As a university based on American liberal arts education, AUS will give priority to candidates with experience in American models of higher education.
