The Department of Modern & Classical Languages, Literatures, & Cultures in the College of Arts Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY invites applications for the position of Temporary Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian with a specialization in Renaissance Studies. This is a full-time, non-tenure-eligible faculty position in the temporary title series with an appointment not to exceed one year for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 academic terms with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. Teaching loads for visiting positions are 3 courses per semester and will include courses on Italian language, literature, and culture. The successful applicant will demonstrate scholarly excellence as evidenced by an active research program and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. Active participation in the academic life of the Department and in units across campus is also expected. The Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures & Cultures is a dynamic academic unit committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue among faculty with diverse geographical interests, theoretical concerns, and methodological approaches. Applicants must have a PhD in Italian Studies in hand by July 2024.
