Assistant Professor of International Languages and Cultures (German and/or French)

The Program in International Languages & Cultures at the University of West Georgia is the 2023 winner of the University System of Georgia Regents Momentum Award for Excellence in Teaching and Curricular Innovation. Building on our tradition of excellence in teaching, mentorship, research, and service, we invite applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of International Languages and Cultures with expertise in German and/or French starting August 1, 2024. The ideal colleague will offer elementary language courses in French and/or German as well as intermediate and advanced courses in at least one of those languages in support of the degree in Foreign Languages & Literatures with a Concentration in French or German. The Assistant Professor role also includes contributing in one or more of the following areas: theory and practice of translation and interpretation,Digital Humanities, public Humanities scholarship, and experiential learning through study abroad and work-based learning/internships. Undergraduate teaching experience is required. The successful applicant must have been awarded a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by the start date.
