Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Modern Peninsular and Global Hispanophone Cultures

We are seeking a person whose teaching and scholarship demonstrate experience with the practices and methodologies of cultural studies and whose research engages with the history and production of knowledge in Spain and in modern global hispanophone cultures. We solicit applications from candidates whose work incorporates the cultures of Spain with territories that were once bound by the Spanish Empire, specifically the cultures and histories of Africa and/or Asia. Candidates with a secondary or intersectional emphasis on gender and sexuality studies, race, and/or ecocriticism and environmental humanities are especially encouraged to apply. The strongest candidate for this position will also have a demonstrated ability to teach Spanish language courses at all levels. The position requires teaching 4.5 courses per year, an ongoing program of research, and the willingness to contribute to the intellectual life of the college.
