The Department of English at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor faculty position in Creative Writing - Poetry. We seek a writer whose teaching, creative work, and service will strengthen and support our existing offerings at the undergraduate and graduate levels and whose work speaks to or engages with one or more communities of color. A PhD or MFA (completed or near completion) is preferred; minimum of an MA plus appropriate experience is required. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach Creative Writing at the graduate and undergraduate levels and literature at the undergraduate level. In addition, an interest in and aptitude for administration is needed since the appointee will eventually serve as Director of the program. At least one book of poetry from a high-quality press is required.

"Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications, and experience. A reasonable estimated salary range for this position is $91,000 – $142,000 inclusive of the salary scale and off-scale salary components.
