Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA invites applications for an Assistant Director of Graduate Life, focused on Graduate Writing Support. The rhetoric & composition or professional writing educator in this position will create and implement Lehigh’s first comprehensive writing support program at the graduate level for graduate programs in the university's five colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Business, the Rossin College of Engineering, and the College of Health. The Assistant Director will promote a culture of professional writing at the graduate level by creating structures to support independent writing, building and managing a writing consultation program, offering training and workshops on research and writing skills, and supporting faculty and directors of graduate studies' mentoring of graduate student writing. The Assistant Director will partner with campus entities that support student writing and will promote and support visibility of graduate education at Lehigh to raise Lehigh’s research profile. The person in this position must be committed to creating and supporting a welcoming, open and inclusive environment for all student constituents. The Assistant Director should demonstrate a commitment to innovation and risk-taking across all accountabilities.

The Assistant Director will report to the Associate Dean for Graduate Life at Lehigh in the Deputy Provost for Graduate Education's organizational stem. This is a full-time permanent, non-tenure-track position with full benefits and a salary commensurate with the applicant's degree and experience as well as with tenure-track jobs in the field of rhetoric and composition. Master's Degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Professional Writing or related degree required; Doctoral Degree preferred. We will begin considering applications on October 25, 2019.
