Visiting Assistant Professor in German,  2.5 year Position

The German Program in the Department of German and Russian at Colby College seeks to fill a two- and half-year position (Visiting Assistant Professor, 4 courses/per year) starting February 1, 2024.

Ph.D. preferred. While specialization is open, a comparative or interdisciplinary focus is desired for possible courses in English. Proven success in teaching German language courses is expected. Candidates could contribute a range of courses from beginning language to the senior seminar. Must have native or near-native fluency in German. Promise of ongoing scholarly engagement is an advantage. The successful candidate should have a strong and demonstrated interest in liberal arts education. The search committee is especially interested in applicants who bring diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and candidates who have a record of success advising and mentoring individuals from groups underrepresented in higher education.
