Assistant Professor in Global Literatures in English
Department of English, Georgia State University
The Department of English at Georgia State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Global Literatures in English at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2024. The faculty member will teach a wide range of courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels with a 2/2 course load; direct graduate and undergraduate student research; and collaborate with colleagues in the department and college to develop interdisciplinary programs of study.
Required qualifications: At the time of appointment, applicants must have a Ph.D. in English or a closely related field and show evidence of strong scholarly achievement and potential, excellent teaching, and recognize the significance of service.
Preferred qualifications: The successful applicant should have academic training in global, diasporic, and/or transnational literatures. Areas of specialization might include, but are not limited to, Asian literatures, African literatures, literatures of the Latin diaspora, Caribbean literatures, Middle Eastern literatures, and Indigenous literatures of the Pacific Islands.
Review of applications will begin November 3, 2023 and continue until the position is filled. The first round of interviews will take place virtually in December. Applicants should submit the following materials to englishjobsearch@gsu.edu:
