Assistant Professor, English, Creative Writing

The English Studies Department at Lewis University seeks a Prose Specialist with a commitment to teaching excellence, a record of service, and an active creative writing agenda for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning July 2024.

The successful candidate will be responsible for modelling and supporting the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University’s Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

-Teach 24 credit hours during the contract year
-Offer courses in fiction and First-Year Writing,
-Eventually will serve in a WPA role
-Student advising, department-specified assignments, and participation in the college and university governance committee structure.
-the ability to teach creative non-fiction and script writing is a plus.
