WittKieffer is proud to partner with the Emerson College (Emerson) as they search for a dynamic, collaborative, visionary leader to serve as the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (provost). All applications and nominations are welcomed.
Founded in 1880 and spanning three distinct campuses, Emerson College serves over 4,100 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students. Emerson educates future leaders in the arts and communication; inspires generations of students to think boldly and creatively; and ensures that all students, faculty, staff, and alumni contribute positively to the cultural, social, political, and civic landscape. Deliberately committed to a grounding in the liberal arts and interdisciplinarity, students pursue academic majors and programs such as Film and Television, Journalism, Literature, Marketing, Publishing, Theater, Communication Studies, Health & Social Change, Communication Science and Disorders, Writing, Comedic Arts, an Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) major, and many more.
The next Provost has the extraordinary opportunity to lead the framing of a new academic vision for the College, collaboratively advancing initiatives to completion in an environment of change. The provost works in partnership with new president Jay Bernhardt and the College community.
At the minimum, the successful candidate will have an earned terminal degree and credentials to be tenured at the rank of full professor at Emerson, substantial administrative and leadership experience, and demonstrated success in building interdisciplinarity, fostering community and supporting student success.
Applications should include, as two separate documents, a CV or resume and a letter of interest addressing the themes in the profile at WittKieffer.com. Professional references are not requested at this time. WittKieffer is assisting Emerson College in this search. For fullest consideration, candidate materials should be received by November 27.
Application materials should be submitted using WittKieffer's candidate portal.
