Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Ashoka University

Description

The Department of English at Ashoka University, in the Delhi Capital region of India, is looking to make  (two) tenure-eligible appointments in 2024.  We are primarily looking to hire active researchers, thinkers and passionate teachers whose areas of specialisations may include (but are not restricted to)  one or more of the following subfields: long global eighteenth-century (including Romantic) literatures, global ancient literatures, American literatures, digital humanities, literary theory, and South Asian literatures.We are particularly interested in colleagues who  are committed to the ethos of liberal arts pedagogy at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 

Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in research and publication. They will be expected to teach two courses (basic as well as advanced courses) per semester (four per year), and be involved in advising and administrative duties. Junior faculty are eligible for research leave. All faculty receive generous support for research and an annual research grant.
