Assistant Professor of English

The Department of English at Morehouse College seeks to fill a full-time position starting in Fall 2024. This tenure-track assistant professor will have primary responsibility for teaching freshman composition (English 101 and 102) as well as teaching courses required for the English major. We are seeking a specialist in Victorian literature. In all courses, the faculty member will be asked to provide classroom instruction that incorporates concern for issues of social and racial justice. The Department of English is a collegial department with strong service and research expectations. Candidates who apply are asked to identify their strengths and experiences in assisting Black men and men of color from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds to accomplish curricular goals. The successful candidate will be expected to support the College’s general education curriculum.
