Others include New York area scholars participating in the Sites of Cinema faculty seminar— which in 2024 will start a three-year workshop “Centering Black Film and Media Studies.” The candidate may be involved with this community and in supervising Ph.D. students.

In recent years, the theater has housed a variety of film festivals and international conferences such as Women and the Silent Screen XI (2022) and Legacies of Leftism: East Asia and Beyond (2017).
