We seek candidates with an area of specialty in one of the following: diasporic literature of the Americas, Indigenous literatures of the Americas, Asian/Asian American literature, or Latin American/Latiné literature. We are particularly interested in applicants whose pedagogy, scholarship or community engagement/service focuses on race, ethnicity and historically marginalized identities.

Applicants will have a Ph.D. in English Literature, comparative literature, ethnic studies or a related field by the start of the appointment in the fall of 2024 and provide evidence of a commitment to pedagogy and teaching effectiveness, as well as an active engagement in relevant scholarship. The incoming faculty member will teach courses of their own design, such as a first-year seminar in the liberal arts and introductory and advanced courses in ethnic literature. The teaching load is 3-0-3 in the first year and 3-1-3 in the following years, with a January term between semesters. Wofford faculty are teacher-scholars with a focus on undergraduate teaching and advising and a commitment to the liberal arts.
