Assistant Professor in Transnational Asian American Literary and/or Cultural Studies

The Department of English at Brown University seeks applications from Asian Americanist literary and cultural critics from across all historical periods whose work places US racial formation within a transnational framework. Candidates whose work situates Asian American literature in wider networks of diasporic, Anglophone, and Pacific Rim cultural production, or illuminates transchronological relations in these areas, are encouraged to apply. Other areas of potential expertise include Southeast Asian/American studies, comparative race studies, and postcolonial studies in addition to theorizing that has specifically emerged from Asian American studies.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a record of, or potential for, excellent teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Ph.D. to be completed by June 2024.
