Albion College invites applications for the Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. We are looking for a full-time, one-semester leave replacement, to begin January 2024, who can teach students who seek to be proficient in the Spanish language, while acquiring an understanding of the cultures, histories, and literatures of Spanish-speaking countries.

Specialization in any area of Latin American literature, culture and/or linguistics is expected; expertise and experience in U.S. Latino/Latina studies and language pedagogy for heritage speakers is preferred. The successful candidate will be capable of teaching a full range of language, literature, and culture courses. Candidates must have native or near native fluency in Spanish and English, demonstrated excellence in teaching and a willingness and ability to teach all levels of language and culture.

The successful candidate will have a 3-course teaching load and will be expected to participate in co-curricular departmental activities during the semester and help to guide and assist advanced Spanish majors.
