The Department of Modern Languages at Florida International University, Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs in Miami, invites applications for a Tenure Track, Assistant Professor in the French and Francophone Studies Program, beginning August 2024. A Ph.D. in French is required and must be in-hand by August 12, 2024. We seek candidates with expertise in Linguistics with demonstrated interdisciplinary research interests. The candidate must have evidence of a strong commitment to research and excellence in teaching at the university level. The candidate will teach all levels of the undergraduate French and Francophone Studies Program from beginning language to advanced courses depending on field of expertise and should also have experience with online teaching. Native or near-native proficiency in French and English is required.
Additional pluses include interest in innovative approaches (such as digital/public humanities) and ability to teach Translation courses and/or courses in a second language area.
In September 2021, the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) received full membership in the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA). This prestigious organization includes the top 40 schools of international affairs in the world. The SIPA is among 25 in the US with this designation, 5th in the Southeastern United States, and the 1st and only in the State of Florida.
