The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time 9-month, tenure track, Assistant Professor position in American literature and culture, from the 20th and 21st Century beginning August 1, 2024. We especially welcome applications from candidates whose research and teaching expertise includes histories of imperialism and colonialism and approaches the field transnationally and/or hemispherically. Candidates who can help build existing departmental strengths in gender studies, digital humanities, health humanities and disability studies, and/or environmental studies are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain an active program of research and publication, create new courses relevant to their area(s) of expertise, and supervise graduate student research. They will have the opportunity to participate in the College of Arts and Sciences interdisciplinary programs in Africana Studies (AFST), Digital Humanities (DHUM), Latino/a and Mexican-American Studies (LMAS), and Women’s & Gender Studies (WGST). The position requires a Ph.D. in English, Comparative Literature, or related field, evidence of teaching experience, and a strong record of publications.
