Assistant Professor - English (African American and/or Multiethnic Literatures)

The English department at Niagara University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor, of African American and/or Multiethnic American Literatures, for fall 2024.

The individual will teach courses in areas of African American Literature, multiethnic American literature and/or Latinx literature, and modern American Literature. Candidates with the ability to contribute to our curriculum in creative writing or English education are especially welcome to apply.

We seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education and excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include contributing to our general education course, Literary Perspectives, as well as teaching upper-level courses in the candidate's areas of specialization and interest. The position carries a 3/3 teaching load, in addition to advising majors; contributing to department, University, and/or community service; and engaging in scholarship. The successful candidate may also contribute courses to the University's first-year social justice seminar.
