Assistant Professor/Associate Professor

Associate Professor or Professor may have the opportunity to non-competitively receive a permanent appointment in the excepted service.  This tenure track, Assistant or Associate Professor position will have a 4/4 teaching load for an Assistant Professor and a 3/3 teaching load for an Associate Professor with additional service obligations both in the Department and more broadly at West Point. These service obligations include opportunities to direct the first-year composition course, to direct the core course in literature, to direct and administer the West Point Writing Program and/or West Point’s Mounger Writing Center, to administer the Stokes Writing Fellows Program, and various institutional-level service obligations. Because of the significant service requirements, Associate Professor applicants are preferred, but not required.
