Visiting Asst Professor of 20th and 21st-century Amer Lit, with a specialty in African Amer Lit

The Department of English at Colby College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in 20th and 21st-century American literature, with a specialty in African American literature, for the 2024-2025 academic year. Teaching responsibilities will include five courses, including African American literature, core requirements for majors, and one writing-intensive course for first-year students. PhD must be in hand no later than August 2024.

The English Department at Colby is unusual among liberal arts colleges in offering majors in English, in English with a concentration in Literature and the Environment, and in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.
