Assistant Professor of English

Illinois College seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in composition and rhetoric to begin August 2024. The successful applicant will have college-level teaching experience and expertise in first-year composition and developmental writing.  Teaching duties include face-to-face instruction in first-year composition, developmental writing, intermediate composition, and courses in the new hire’s area of specialization. Preference for candidates with the ability to expand our curriculum by designing new courses in their areas of passion. Experience with online pedagogy preferred as there may be opportunities to teach fully online classes. Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Preference for interest in student-faculty research.
