The Opportunity:
The Department of English and Modern Languages at West Liberty University seeks to hire a full-time tenure-track faculty member to serve as Director of the E. Kent and Barbara Culler Robinson Writing Center. The Robinson Writing Center provides academic and professional writing support for all students and faculty at West Liberty University and is thus a key part of WLU’s student success initiatives. As Director of the Writing Center, this faculty member’s duties will include:
- Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising peer-to-peer student writing consultants.
- Managing the Robinson Writing Center facility and overseeing its daily operations.
- Assisting WLU’s Student Success Center and Provost’s Office in student retention initiatives.
- Collaborating with the faculty to design, implement, and assess first year writing courses.
In addition to their work in the Writing Center, this faculty member will fulfill a 2-2 teaching load for the academic year.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, Professional Writing, or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
