The Literature and Creative Writing Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2024. We seek candidates to teach poetry writing. The teaching load is five courses over the year, including a mixed-genre (poetry & fiction) introductory workshop, an intermediate poetry workshop, and a literature course. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Your materials should include a statement that addresses ways in which you raise issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in your teaching.

Candidates with a PhD in English and candidates with an M.F.A. with significant graduate training in literature will be considered.
