ABOUT POMONA COLLEGE: Pomona College is the founding member of the Claremont Colleges (Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Pomona, and Scripps), liberal arts colleges located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. POSITION SUMMARY: The English Department at Pomona College in Claremont, CA invites applications for a three-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professorship, beginning Fall 2024. The position has a teaching load of five courses per year. Areas of concentration include all periods of American literature, but preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Chicanx/Latinx, Indigenous, or Asian-American literature who can teach electives that contribute to the department’s curriculum, and for additional compensation are willing to advise senior theses. PhD in hand preferred. Consideration will be given to advanced candidates.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: Temporary, three-year, Full-time, benefits eligible, exempt position. The salary range for this role is between $66,500-$73,000. The specific factors that the organization will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include education, training, and prior experience. Pomona College offers a competitive benefits package. This position is ineligible for visa or permanent resident card sponsorship and applicants. We are unable to cover moving costs.
