PhD in English or a related field is desired by the start date; candidates who have successfully defended their dissertation but do not yet have the degree in hand may also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, and will contribute to the Literary Studies Program's Race and Literature Concentration. We are especially interested in areas of research and teaching that build upon the Literary Studies program's strengths in race and ethnic studies; race and empire; women's writing; gender, queer, and sexuality studies; intersectionality and literature; and environmental or medical humanities.

We seek an outstanding faculty member with clear evidence of commitment to undergraduate teaching and research, student learning, diversity, and inclusive pedagogy. The successful candidate will teach courses that emphasize critical writing and contribute to Bucknell's core curriculum and its commitment to the liberal arts.

We believe that students learn best in a diverse, inclusive community and we are therefore committed to Bucknell's efforts to create a climate that fosters the growth and development of a diverse student body. Application materials include a Cover Letter, CV, two sample syllabi, three letters of recommendation, and a Diversity Statement (one-page statement describing how commitment to diversity is present in the candidate's teaching, research, and mentoring). Applications will only be accepted through Bucknell's online Jobs@Bucknell submission portal. Review of applications will begin March 11, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
