About the Job
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs term (non-tenure-track) faculty to fill in for regular faculty who may be on leave. Term faculty include visiting, contract, adjunct or temporary appointments. This position is for the 2024-2025 academic year only.
The applicant will be expected to teach a 3-2 teaching load of primarily upper division undergraduate courses. Applicants with specialization in all time periods and regions are encouraged to apply.
Term faculty will be expected to teach introductory and/or upper division undergraduate courses and/or graduate-level courses, hold office hours and advise students, engage in an active program of scholarly research, and perform service and outreach appropriate for the rank of appointment. Qualifications
Required qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Iberian or Latin American Cultural Studies, Hispanic Linguistics or a closely related field granted within the past 5 academic years. Ph.D. must be in hand by August 26, 2024.
Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Iberian or Latin American Cultural Studies, Hispanic Linguistics granted within the past 2 academic years. Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
