GERMAN LECTURER

The Department of German at Princeton University seeks a full-time Lecturer to teach German language courses during the 2024-2025 academic year with the possibility of renewal for one or more years. In exceptional cases, an appointment may be made at the rank of Senior Lecturer.

The Lecturer will teach within the four-semester German language sequence, and, depending on the needs of the Department of German, additional responsibilities may include leading language sections, leading precepts, supervising graduate student teaching assistants, and participating in course and curriculum design.

Appointment duty time will be 12 hours per semester, and the position is expected to begin on September 1, 2024. Princeton University offers competitive salary and employee benefits, and Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer if they have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments.

Essential Qualifications:

Ph.D. required.
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
Native or near-native fluency in German.
Proven experience teaching German at a university level.
