The Department of Francophone, Italian, and Germanic Studies (FIGS) invites applications for a full-time, one-year appointment (non-tenure track) as a Lecturer to teach Elementary and Intermediate French in an undergraduate program committed to dynamic language instruction for academic year 2024-2025. Possibility of annual renewal for up to an additional two years, contingent upon satisfactory performance and approval of the Dean. Teaching load is 6 courses per year. Required qualifications: Master’s degree required, PhD preferred. Native or near-native linguistic ability in both French and English. Excellent leadership and communication skills, and teaching credentials, with at least two years’ experience teaching language courses at the university level using up-to-date classroom technologies. Experience coordinating a multi-sectioned language/culture course at the university level is desirable. Ability to teach medical or business French would be welcome. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom are especially encouraged to apply.
