Visiting Full-Time Faculty Position in Chinese

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty appointment in Chinese Studies (https://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/chinese-studies) to begin in August 2024. This is a one-year appointment. Candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, a PhD or ABD with expertise in Chinese literature and culture, and experience teaching Chinese language at the college level in the U.S. Preference will be given to candidates who can also offer courses on Chinese literature and Chinese culture from interdisciplinary perspectives.

Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester and are eligible for travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College’s published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits. 

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field. PhD or ABD in related fields and experience teaching Mandarin at the college level in the U.S. required.
