Assistant Professor of Spanish

The Modern Languages and Literatures Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at Rockhurst University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish to begin in August 2020. A specialty of Spanish Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition is required. The preferred candidate must also have experience teaching Medical Spanish. The position carries a 3/3 load for those who maintain an active research agenda.  Candidates must demonstrate commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching at the introductory and advanced language levels as well as scholarly achievement. The position includes responsibilities managing and expanding Medical Spanish course and program offerings. Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English are required. ABD candidates will be considered, but all requirements for the Ph.D. must be completed before start of employment.
